Bridget's first haircut

Since the day Bridget was born, she had beautiful hair. As it's gotten longer, it's gotten so curly and formed the most perfect ringlets that I would kill for! After two years of letting it grow, we quickly realized she was developing a wicked mullet, which I simply couldn't have! So I took her with me when I got my hair done and had my wonderful friend Emily give her a trim.

Bridget goes with me a lot to see Emily so she knows her (and loves her!) and she had a great time being the center of attention instead of watching me get beautiful. She is such a good girl and I am proud of her.

Making cookies

My baby has developed a serious love of sweet things and she loves cookies. We've never made cookies when she has helped and so we decided that today was the day to do it. We made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with sprinkles. Bridget had so much fun mixing, throwing the dough on the cookie sheets and then peppering them with sprinkles that I couldn't resist capturing it! Some of these are blurry, but its hard to catch her standing still sometimes.

Carefully adding the water

Mixing the dough

Oh, better taste it to make sure its good

Time to bake? Let me help you put it on the cookie sheet mom (as she's throwing clumps of it on there!)

Next we add the sprinkles - Bridget made sure that each cookie was properly covered in rainbow sprinkles. She's very thorough.

The cookies are now ready for the oven!

Before and....

After!

I couldn't resist this picture! I urged Bridget to crawl across the counter to get the cookies, quite artistic I think!

Finally, the pay off, chowing down on the yummy cookies!

Have to wash the yumminess down with milk, right?
The smile of a satisfied girl, which makes the huge mess she made absolutely worth it!

Labor Day 2009

Our usual Labor Day tradition is to spend time in Midway with the Fisher's. The girls go to Swiss Days while the boys babysit, it's a perfect arrangement! We missed Tom and Alyse's this weekend, but we had a great time! The kids had a great time playing together and I had fun with Jen and Cindy at Swiss Days.

Sunday we went to Wasatch State Park and spent hours playing on the playground, feeding the ducks and just goofing around. I took tons of pictures there of the kids and even convinced everyone to take off their shoes and sit in the stream so I could take their pictures! It was so fun! The water was cold, but not too bad once you got in.

Mommy doing the heavy lifting so Bridget can dip her toes in! She hated me holding her and just wanted to get in the water like the big kids!

Our cute family

Jen, Marcos, Mark and Makensie

Jen and her Dad, so cute together!

Makensie

This one is my favorite picture on the train and one of my favorites all day. Makensie is so expressive and loves having her picture taken, so I was glad to catch her day dreaming and not posing.

These pictures were taken on Friday night at the cabin. We were all really tired from a long, hot day at Swiss Days so it was nice to just relax, have a yummy cookout and spend time together.

Swiss Days was crowded but really fun. This was Bridget's second year being there and she had a lot of fun grabbing candy and watching the floats go by. She didn't like Smokey the Bear but everything else she really liked!

I love this picture of Bridget and Mark. They love each other so much and it was so
cute to see Bridget hugging him and Mark just lets her, because he loves her.
Such a cute relationship they have.
