Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

The Fishers
Christmas 2008

Christmas with Bridget was wonderful and she really got into it this year. She was spoiled rotten by her wonderful grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and of course James and I! It was so fun!

It was a strange year for us and this wasn't the best Christmas we've ever had. It started off by James losing his job, which seemed to set the tone for the entire year. And with the huge storm that came in on Christmas Day, we didn't get to see my family at all, which made me so very sad. We were lucky to be able to spend some time with James' family though and I'm grateful for them. This is our Christmas tree we had in our living room this year. It was beautiful.

This was taken on Christmas Eve at James' parents home. We had a yummy dinner and had a great time spending it with the family. The only thing missing was Tom, Alyse, T.J. and Danae. We wish they could have been there too!

Here is the lovely triple chocolate peppermint trifle I made for Christmas Eve. Yes, it was as yummy as it looks!

Here is Bridget with her presents from Santa on Christmas morning. She really got into Christmas this year and had fun opening the presents. The only thing she didn't like was putting the fun thing down to open another package!

Here is a picture of her with the ice cream set Grandma and Grandpa Fisher bought for her. As you can see, she loves it!

Here is Bridget and her cousins Mark and Makensie on Christmas Eve. Bridget had so much fun playing with them.

Blast from the past

I've been scanning in some old pictures to my computer and I came across this one. Look how cute Brian, Tonya and I look! This was taken in our house in Denver when Tonya was just brand new. I was 7 or 8. How simple life was back then! Check out my pig tails!

Goodbye Grandma Ballou

My sweet Grandma June E. Ballou passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2008. We are so sad to see her go but she has suffered for a while and my whole family is happy that she is reunited with Grandpa Ballou and with our Savior. I miss her tons and it's been hard for me. She was my last surviving grandparent and I will admit, its hard not having them around.

I'm also sad that Bridget won't get the chance to know her. I've taken her down there often and have some great pictures of the two of them together. She won't remember her, but she'll know her.

I'm going to miss you Grandma but I know that I will see you again.

Bridget's First Disneyland Trip

We had so much fun taking Bridget to Disneyland last week. James's mom and dad gave us this trip for Christmas last year and we had so much fun! She loved the carousel and Dumbo the best, but liked the other rides too. She even got to go on Pirates, the Jungle Cruise and the Haunted Mansion. She was such a good girl and had so much fun with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins! And James and I had so much fun taking her!

She wasn't a huge fan of the characters up close, but she loved looking at them for a distance.

Halloween 2008

This year we had so much fun with Bridget for Halloween! She was so cute and had fun going trick or treating. She was a Utah Cheerleader (Go Utes!) and was the cutest baby I've ever seen in my life!

We took her to a nursery to look at pumpkins. She was so facinated by everything that she wouldn't look at the camera for me to take her picture. It was much easier last year for sure. But we got a few cute ones.

Early that day, we went up to Grandma Ven's house and Sheri, Eli and Aidan were there. We got some really cute pictures of the three kids! Then Bridget and I went up to my old office, where she was a huge hit!

On Halloween night, we went up to visit the Grandma and Grandpa Fisher which was really fun! Then we came home and went trick or treating up and down our street. We got to see the Lundberg boys in their costumes, the Gillmore girls in their and the Stringham clan in their costumes. It was such a fun night! After we got home and were passing out candy, Bridget changed into her jammies and had such a good time looking at all the kids that came to our house in their costumes.

Go Utes!!!!

We took Bridget to her very first Utah football game on Saturday, October 18 and she had so much fun! The Utes killed Colorado State! She is going to be a Utah cheerleader for Halloween and we found this cute outfit at the bookstore. Cindy and I were going to make one but this was too cute to pass up!

We went to the game with Bob and Trenna and we all had such a great time. The weather was really nice and the game was a good one. James and I decided to start Bridget down the right track early on and get her excited to become a Utah girl some day. I graduated from there and hopefully she will too!

Moving to the big girl bed!!!!

Bridget got tired of sleeping in her crib so we moved her into a big girl bed and she loves it! She's sleeping in a twin bed that I used to sleep in when I'd go visit my Grandma Udy. She's tried to climb over the safety gate already and fallen on her head (just once) so hopefully she'll learn she can't do that. We keep trying to teach her to slide off at the bottom of the bed but it takes time for her to figure it out.

She also loves to help me when I'm on the computer doing my freelance articles for the Salt Lake Tribune Sports department. Usually she just takes the pens out of the cup and drops them behind the desk, which is a big help to me, as you can imagine. But she is my good helper and I love her!

Oh, the memories!

I just recently converted our wedding photos from negatives to a digital format. They look amazing! It has been so fun to look back over the photos from that day and remember how great it was.

Update on the family

It's been a long while since I've posted anything on here, so I'm redeeming myself and posting. We had a great time as a family over Labor Day and spent it in Midway, Utah with James's family. The girls went to Swiss Days and had lots of fun while the boys stayed home with the kids, also fun. We wrapped up our weekend with a picnic and Mirror Lake in the high Uintah's. It was cool but really fun!
