Bridget's Second Birthday

What a difference a couple of years makes! She looks the same in many ways but so different. The first picture was taken less than a week after she was born. The second was taken at the Old Spaghetti factory on her second birthday. She is getting so big, someone please stop the clock!

It's hard for me to believe that my baby is two years old. Wasn't it just yesterday that she was so tiny and snuggled up in my arms? These past two years have been the best of our family's lives and James and I can't imagine what our life would be like if Bridget wasn't in it. We are so lucky she came to be a part of our family.

Here are a few high lights:

If you know me, you know that presents are my favorite part of holidays and birthdays, so James and I let Bridget open her gifts at home. Yes, they are wrapped in Christmas paper, because that's all I have and that's my own quirky tradition to wrap everything in Christmas paper, ask my in-laws, they think I'm so weird! It's a proud family tradition on my mom's side.

Bridget of course made out like a bandit. We bought her some "Yo Gabba Gabba" figures, a baby stroller, a corn popper to push around, a coloring book and some fairies. Trenna bought her a pink table for her bedroom and one for the patio and a tricycle. Jim and Cindy bought her a wagon.

We took Bridget to Ihop for her birthday breakfast, another family tradition. She is such a good eater and so good in restaurants.

Bridget loves movies and especially loves the drive-in. Although it was hideously hot and stuffy that night, we braved it and went to the Redwood Drive-In and saw "Up" and "The Proposal", two great shows!

I made Bridget's cake again this year. She likes red velvet cake (or maybe I do) so this year I made her a red velvet, strawberry ice cream cake with pink whipped cream icing. It was delish! The strawberries were a little hard though, next time I'll leave those off!

We spent her actual birthday together as a family so when we had dinner with James's parents, I made the cake. I know Jim loves cake and ice cream and I knew that I didn't want a whole cake in my freezer calling my name! I couldn't resist buying the "2" candle because it looked so cute on her cake.

Watching her eat cake this year wasn't nearly as fun as it was last year, but she really enjoyed it and that's all that matters!

What summer is all about

Since my sister Tonya moved to New Mexico, I'm always so excited when she comes up to visit. She usually ends up staying a few days with me before going to my mom's house and I love our time together! Bridget and Paige have fun playing together (when they aren't fighting over the same toy) and they love swimming. They obviously look so different and their personalities are completely different, but they are both sweet, loving, affectionate, funny girls who I love so much!

much!

4th of July

We spent the weekend in Idaho for the 4th of July and while I can't say the whole weekend was the vacation of a lifetime, it definitely had some great moments! We battled swarms of mosquitoes, torrential rain and cold weather to celebrate our country's birthday.

Brian, Bob, James, and Jack got up early Friday to go play some golf before they went to the river. The girls slept in and had got started up to Idaho mid-morning. The drive was long with three screaming girls in the back seat (Abby, Bridget and Bailey) but we had fun. When we got to the river, the fun ended. I've never seen so many mosquitoes in one place before. I sprayed everyone down but they still hovered in clouds around us. Eck.

After a huge torrential rain storm turned everything around the river wet and muddy, which brought out even more blood suckers (a.k.a. the mosquitoes from Hell) and Bridget came back from a walk wet and muddy up to her knees, James and I decided our camping fun had come to an end and we booked it for the hotel. We are so not campers!

We did have fun hanging around with the family though and the kids had fun playing together.

Cali is so cute! Bridget loves playing with her.Connie and Cali - two super cuties!

Bridget had fun playing in the little playhouse at the river. There is a little loft she could climb into but couldn't get back down the ladder! Ali and Hailey had to rescue her a few times.

Cali, Lili, Abby, and Ali hamming it up.

After a lovely night at the Anglers Inn in Ashton (not the best hotel I've stayed at but certainly not the worst) we went a little up Main St. and found the perfect spot in front of Uncle Mike's new building, which Travis is going to use for his business.

The parade was a lot of fun to go to. They went down Main St. and then turned around and did it again, which was pretty funny, but the kids enjoyed it. It was great to see the pride that Ashton has for their town and I enjoyed being a part of the small town for a few hours.

I couldn't resist taking this picture and I'm sure there will come a time when Abby will want to kill me for it, but it's so cute!

Jack and Brenner at the parade, they were so cute! Brenner had so much fun running for the candy from the floats.

Here is Travis's float for his new business. Emily and Travis just moved to Idaho Falls so Travis could start a business. We are sad to see them leave Utah but we're excited for them!

Lili, Ashton, Ali, Nicole, Eva, and Niki rode on the float and passed out candy. Brenner wanted on the float bad and ran out to meet his mom. Grandma Nancy barely caught him before he tried to jump up on the float.

Bailey with her cute dog Teke. These two are barely separable and this little dog loves Bailey.

Mom, Dad and Abby enjoying the parade!

Me and my sweet heart at the parade. I love the fact that James was the only person there in jeans and a sweatshirt on the 4th of July! Love you babe!

Finally, an update

I have been so busy with work that I haven't been able to update the blog lately but I'm here to redeem myself! Life has been hectic around here but we're finally getting things under control. Bridget's new room is almost painted and then it's time to start all over again on the other room upstairs for the new baby. We're pretty excited! Here are some pictures to enjoy!

Keep reading down for new pictures of Bridget!!

I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing pictures of the flowers in my yard but here are a few more that I couldn't resist!

I had to take some pictures for my stories with the Sandy Journal (www.sandyjournal.com) so James, Bridget and I went up Little Cottonwood Canyon (I think, which ever one Alta and Snowbird are up) and it was so beautiful! There was so much water in the creek so I thought I'd practice my photography a little!

Aidan and Eli came over a few weeks ago and the three cousins went swimming and had a blast!

Aidan is such a cheeseball but he is so cute!

Bridget couldn't resist running through the sprinkler on Monday after James had cut the lawn. She loves the water and I'm worried she might turn into a fish!

This picture is so funny! James just can't help him self from clowning around when Bridget is acting funny. They are so much alike!
