Heather's baby shower

My very good friend Heather is having a baby in July and I am so excited for her! She is having a little girl and I like to call her baby Fifi. The girls (Trish, Angel, Natalie, Danielle and I) threw her a shower on May 9 and it was fabulous! The food was great, the company outstanding and she got some of the nicest presents I've ever seen at a shower. Here are some pictures that Trenna and I took.
What a cute bunch of girls! Cynthia Miller, Danielle, Heather, Natalie, and I hamming it up.

I thought that the table and the centerpieces turned out super cute.

This is a classic Heather picture! I love the bib (I think it came from Angel).

Heather got the cutest diaper cake as a present. It was adorable and all those diapers will come in very handy!

Heather opening up our gift of essentials. We had planned to use this for the game but since I have a firm no game policy at showers, it was fine when we decided to scrap it.

Night at the ball park

James and I took Bridget to a Bees game tonight and we had so much fun! They won the game and have several home runs, which was fun to cheer for. Bridget had a great time clapping and looking at the little girls in front of us. We took her to a few games last year and had a great time then. She is even more fun now to take! I forgot to take my camera, which is why there are no pictures, but we will probably be back to more games so there will be many more pictures!
As I sat at the ball park tonight, I was wondering if Bridget would turn into a sports fan as she got older. James and I like sports and going to Utah football games, Utah gymnastic meets, Real Salt Lake soccer games, and Bees games and since I cover sports for the Salt Lake Tribune, it made me wonder. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
I covered 4A tennis today at Liberty park and it was a blast! The best part - no sunburn today! Hurray!

First pig tails

Bridget had her first pair of real pig tails in her hair today! She looks so cute! We usually make two little pigs on her head but leave the back long. We decided today to go whole hog and give her two piggies! I must say she looks adorable. Her hair doesn't look like it would be long enough, but those darling curls can be deceiving!

Bridget loves playing with my shoes and couldn't stand to not wear my sandals around the house. So cute!

Mother's Day Thoughts

As I woke up this morning, sunburned horribly and very stiff, I was a little grumpy. But after Bridget woke up and started smiling at me, I realized that no matter how I was doing, I had my beautiful baby girl to remind me that life is good.

A few things I love about being a mom:

1. Bridget's sly smile
2. Hearing her chant "mama, mama, mama" when she needs me
3. Asking her a question and watching her smile and nod her head
4. Asking her to go get me something and watching her waddle away and then eventually bring it back.
5. Finally understanding what true love is all about
6. Watching her as she tries to figure out how to jump
7. Seeing the delight in her eyes as she's getting into something she shouldn't
9. Her helping me fold laundry by throwing it around the room
10. Repeating every word I say, even the bad ones

I love being a mother and I love my Bridget. She is my sweetheart and best buddy. I am so lucky to be able to be home with here while James works to support us. I wish I was thinner, richer and more talented of course, but I can't complain when I look at my family, for I am truly blessed.

6th Anniversary

It's hard to believe that James and I have been together for seven years and married for six. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 30, 2003. Our life hasn't been perfect, but we can't complain.

James was such an unexpected surprise to me and I can't imagine my life with out him. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful little family!
